Pine and mahogany furnishings seem to be a little out of vogue at the moment. Gone are the times when old dark brown furniture was a lot sought after. Any such mahogany furnishings was typically ornate and nowadays minimalism is on development. Mahogany can look stylish but this traditional dark wood seems to be getting changed with a light-weight oak.
My imaginative and prescient for the bedroom was to turn it right into a romantic retreat that is also used for studying or conversation. TV in the bed room has always been banned. Light colors adopted the theme throughout the house. Avoiding a décor that was overly masculine or feminine, we selected a lightweight lavender for the walls and white for all the woodwork. With price range in thoughts, we selected to decorate with paintings and burgundy accents that we already owned. New furniture was not within the funds.
