From keeping our beds heat to adorning our partitions and adding coloration to our residing rooms, quilts have made our lives brighter and extra cheerful. These lovely hand-woven beddings are composed of a quilt prime, a layer of cotton batting and a layer of cloth for batting. That is the commonest technique of quilting.

When a fabric is woven, threads run across the fabric as well as up and down. The grain refers to these threads running up and down. These are parallel to the selvages.
